Infrastructure Australia are seeking feedback on policy options for the aviation disability standards, which will help address air travel barriers faced by people with disability. Your feedback on the consultation paper will help us make sure the new standards address barriers to air travel and are fit for purpose.

Australian employers are thinking the wrong way about workers with disability.
Many worry that employing people with an intellectual or other significant disability will be costly, or that these workers can’t do valuable work. Those employers are failing to understand the value that more inclusive workplaces can deliver.

If you’re moving from one rental home to another, you can now choose to move your bond to your new property using the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority’s (RTBA) Portable Rental Bond Scheme. This means you don’t have to wait for your bond to be refunded by the RTBA to pay the bond for your new home. It costs $25 to move your bond. If the new bond is more than your existing bond, you need to pay the difference.

Visiting Bendigo recently, Minister for Health, Disability and Ageing Mark Butler said as well as more local residents being bulk-billed and more people saving on cheaper medicines, the reforms have seen the provision of more urgent care and upgraded mental health services.

This week, Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative (AMHC) Executive Director Priyanka Rai and CEO of the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland, Lisa Ward appeared before the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs as part of its Inquiry into the Support at Home Program.
Drawing on FECCA’s national engagement with almost 1,000 multicultural older people, carers, community organisations and service providers, they highlighted the barriers that continue to prevent many multicultural older Australians from accessing the care they’re entitled to.
