Some of the people reporting significant impacts include renters in hot homes, people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, and people who say that the rising cost of living is impacting whether they can afford to stay cool.

Disability community rejects key NDIS review proposals

“The Australian Dream” – Aspirations of young migrants with disability

The University of Melbourne is recruiting participants for a new research project seeking to understand the aspirations of young migrants with disability in Australia. It also aims to understand the enablers and barriers that young migrants with disability face in achieving their aspirations. Particpants will be paid for their time.

Draft National Autism Survey: Feedback wanted

The federal government has released a draft of a strategy it hopes will improve the lives of autistic Australians.

Feedback will inform a more coordinated, national approach aiming to better support autistic people at each stage of life.

This public consultation is open until May 31, 2024.

Preventing Violence Against Women with Disabilities

Women with Disabilities Victoria Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV) is an organisation led by women with disabilities, for women with disabilities. Women and girls with disabilities are twice as likely to experience violence as those without disabilities. A 3 (three) session conference is offered covering Introduction to Prevention of Violence against Women with Disabilities, Gender and Disability Drivers of Violence, Prevention in Action – commencing 23 April, then 30 April and 7 May.
