Personal care supports may be required across a variety of settings. For example, a participant living alone in their own home, living with family or other people, when undertaking social, recreational, education or employment activities or during holidays away from home.
According to the NDIS, daily activities includes all of the household routines and activities that are naturally completed throughout the span of each day, such as getting out of bed, brushing teeth, eating, drinking, washing the dishes, bathing, doing laundry, and so on.

Assistance with Self-Care Activities is a NDIS plan intended for the daily supervision of NDIS participants’ personal tasks of day to day life. Amos Care’s individualized self-care services are safely provided in both settings – in- home care or outdoor. These services include but are not limited to:
- Personal hygiene and self-care education
- Assistance with showering, grooming, cleaning, gardening
- Cooking and meal preparation
- Medical management and reminders
- Easy mobility and transfer
- Assistance with community participation
- Training courses in household management skills
Before including any personal care support in a participant’s plan, the NDIA must,amongst other matters, be satisfied that the support will assist the participant to pursue their goals. objectives and aspirations (section 34(1)(a)).
Personal care supports are likely to be supports which assist a participant to pursue a number of different goals, rather than being related to a specific goal.
